Vernon Massage Therapy

At Clearwater Physical Therapy, our Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) are all trained in Therapeutic Massage. Webster’s Dictionary defines therapeutic as “producing good effect on your body and mind” and massage as ” manipulation of tissues ( as by rubbing, kneading, or tapping) with the hand for therapeutic purposes”

Physicians often refer patients to a RMT as they recognize massage therapy as an effective treatment for their patients’ conditions. RMTs combine modern science and ancient philosophies through the utilization of specific techniques and modalities.  RMTs are health care professionals that are able to effectively treat musculoskeletal disorders and work with a broad variety of people with illnesses, injuries, and disabilities.

Our RMT staff is committed to providing the very best in one-on -one patient care and work closely with other health care professionals to insure the best results possible.

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage is a gentle Swedish massage technique that focuses on helping individuals relax and reduce stress. It involves smooth, gliding strokes, slower pace, and lighter pressure compared to therapeutic massages. The goal is to induce a deep state of relaxation without targeting specific muscle issues. This type of massage is suitable for first-time recipients or those seeking a calming experience. It has various health benefits, including the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers, and stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which leads to reduced blood pressure, slower heart rate, increased digestion, improved blood circulation, and lymphatic system activation.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique that focuses on deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is effective in relieving chronic pain, addressing contracted areas, and alleviating muscle tightness in various parts of the body. This massage involves slow strokes and increased pressure to target tension and reach underlying muscles and fascia. Deep tissue massage offers benefits such as pain relief, improved mobility, injury recovery, and management of various conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome and sciatica. It is also beneficial for postural problems, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and muscle tension or spasms. Additionally, it can aid in post-workout recovery or bodybuilding.

Therapeutic Sports Massage

Sports massage therapy is a specialized form of massage designed for athletes of all levels. It targets areas of the body that are stressed and overused due to specific sports movements. This type of massage can enhance performance, reduce recovery time, improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and decrease muscle soreness. Regular sports massage sessions, tailored to individual needs, can be a valuable addition to a training regimen. Direct billing to insurance companies may be available, and individuals are encouraged to inquire about their coverage.
