Thinking and Being Strong

Have you ever wondered what keeps you moving in the right direction?

I will tell you what it is…. RESILIENCE. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from a negative experience or difficult challenge. It does not mean that there may not be some stress, some emotional and physical upheaval or suffering. It simply means we can pull ourselves back to our grounded and stable state. Sound familiar?

The last 22 months have been chaotic and uncertain for our entire planet, yet we continue to pivot and shift and keep moving forward. RESILIENCE. Understanding that each of us have a mental and physical reservoir of strength is something we see and utilize every day in Physical Therapy practice. “Just one more set”. “You can walk just a little bit farther”. “Last time you did 5 reps. Let’s try to do 6!”. All practitioners act as a cheerleader for our clients to keep them moving forward along their rehab path, even when they don’t think they can. What makes our clients successful? RESILIENCE. Whether you are a physical therapist, a massage therapist, a personal trainer, occupational therapist or a coach, our role is to help the client find and see that power from within.

At Clearwater Physical Therapy, we recognize and celebrate in our staffs', our clients’ and our community’s resilience. We want to continue to align with and create space to facilitate continued resilience for all our publics and foster an environment with which we can all connect to the things that are meaningful and satisfying for each of us on a personal and societal level. Please continue to practice within your own spaces those things that help to fill your cup: a massage, a walk in nature, coffee with a friend, a hot bath, a potluck dinner with your neighbours, a lunch date with your teenager.

We encourage you to find your resilience and reconnect to yourself and those around you. If you feel you need help or assistance in doing that, please call one of our clinics and find out how we can help.
